Colville Hall Wedding Photography: On Saturday I photographed Sian and Matt’s wedding at Colville Hall (http://www.colvillehallwedding.co.uk/) in White Roding, near Hatfield Heath in Essex.

This was my first wedding at Colville Hall, which incidentally is one of the closest wedding venues to where I am based. I was so pleased to see the weather had improved from the couple of days of rain we had previously. My aim was to capture the wedding story for Sian and Matt as photographs, with focus on the emotion and events taking place as well as a few posed up shots. Colville Hall has a historic Essex wedding barn which lies within the remains of an ancient moated site. Although the venue is deep in the peaceful Essex countryside, it isn’t too far to get to from Chelmsford or Bishop Stortford.

The courtyard up by the Orchard Barn is beautiful, and the Court House is very picturesque.

The bridal party arrived and were making last minute preparations in the Stable Block before getting changed into their wedding outfits.

The wedding flowers were provided by Flowers by Amanda Jane (https://www.flowersbyamandajane.co.uk/) and were stunning.

The boys were getting ready in the Old Dairy.

After I few photographs I went back to the girls, and the bride was putting on her dress.

After a couple of photographs we headed to the Orchard Barn for the wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony everyone headed down to the area around the Mill Pond Barn for the drinks reception.

After some candids, and some group photographs, I took the couple for their wedding portraits utilising the beautiful grounds and gardens that Colville Hall has to offer.

We managed to get a big group photograph in front of the Mill Pond Barn before everyone headed inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

The table plan was very unique. It was the grooms handy work, made from copper piping… what a fabulous idea!

After the meal I took the couple for a few more photographs as the light was a bit softer.

Lovelight Entertainment (http://lovelightentertainment.co.uk/) were looking after the evening party as DJ and venue lighting specialists. I work with Lovelight a lot and am happy to recommend them to anyone who’s getting married and wants the very best evening party with beautifully themed lighting.

We also had the opportunity to get a couple of dramatic evening shots (not quite a sunset, but still very beautiful!).

I had a lovely day with Sian and Matt, as well as Jill and the great team at Colville Hall.

The Fennes Wedding Story Wedding Photography: On Saturday I photographed Gemma and Billy’s wedding at The Fennes (https://www.fennes.co.uk/) near Braintree, in Essex.

My aim was to tell the story of Gemma and Billy’s day through my photographs. There is a mixture of natural, candid as well as a few posed up classic wedding photographs. Capturing the true emotion and genuine smiles is important for me especially when people of unaware. I was working along side Matt from 3 cheers media (http://www.3cheersmedia.com/) who I’ve worked with before and we work well together enabling us to get the very best for our clients. I met up with the bridal party who were getting ready at The Fennes. The weather was a bit cooler than the 35 degrees we have been experiencing, although it was still very warm, and there was a strong cooling breeze which helped.

It wasn’t long before the groom arrived.

I recognised the best man from the wedding I shot the previous week where he was a guest, small world!!

It was time for the bride to get in the dress.

The couple opted for an outdoor ceremony and it was beautiful!

After lots of candid photographs, we took the couple for their wedding portraits utilising the gorgeous surroundings at The Fennes.

There was time for some family group shots etc.

The Fennes has a large permanent marquee at the rear of the house for the reception, and it looked amazing!

After the meal and the speeches, we popped outside for a couple more wedding portraits making the most of the soft evening light.

We even managed to get one of my dramatic sunset style photographs too! I had a lovely day with Gemma and Billy, and I wish them all the success for the future in their new life as a married couple. The team at The Fennes were great, and very helpful, and it was absolute pleasure to work alongside Matt the videographer again.

July Wedding Photography, Blake Hall Essex: On Wednesday I photographed Polly and Brendan’s wedding at Blake Hall (http://www.blakehall.co.uk/) in Ongar, Essex.

I arrived on the morning of the wedding, and the heat wave we’d been experiencing continued with more sun forecast. My aim was to capture the fun and emotion, and to tell the story of Polly and Brendan’s day through my pictures. I took natural, candid and some posed shots throughout the day. The bridal party were getting ready in the Old Coach House at Blake Hall.

Sally from Halo Blossom (https://www.haloblossom.co.uk/) provided the flowers and they were beautiful as always!

The grooms party arrived.

The couple opted for an outdoor ceremony using the saddlery.

I took the couple for their wedding portraits using the lovely gardens at Blake Hall.

Lovelight (http://lovelightentertainment.co.uk/) provided the venue lighting and it looked amazing.

The evenings entertainment was provided by Paddy from Disco Wed (https://www.discowed.com/) with his Disco Shed :-)

We also found an opportunity to get a sunset photograph. I had a real giggle with Polly and Brendan, and enjoyed shooting their wedding. It was great to see all the team at Blake Hall who always work so hard to give everyone the best wedding day ever.
