As a wedding photographer for Hertfordshire and Essex, I shot this wedding on Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend at All Saints Church in Little Canfield, Essex and at the Whitehall Hotel in Broxted, Essex. The weather was bright and slightly overcast for Jo and Paul’s special day with a cool breeze in the air at the church. I have purposely displayed some shots in black and white to show how striking they can look.

I started off at the Brides leaving location where she and all the Bridesmaids were getting ready. I was able to capture some really natural shots of them having their make-up, and after a while they forgot I was there.

I do like to use mirrors and unusual angles when taking photographs to give a really stylish look. Also by shooting with a zoom lens I am able to blur out the background so the focus is the subject and their expression.

After the Bride’s leaving location, I moved on to the church which was nearby in Little Canfield to meet up with the Groom and the boys. I took a couple of posed shots and then concentrated on some more natural moments as they occurred whilst we were waiting for the Bride to arrive.

As you can see the Bride looked absolutely stunning and I was able to capture her excitement.

I was able to take photographs all through-out the ceremony and then a few shots outside the church before moving on to the reception venue.

The Whitehall Hotel is a great venue for a wedding reception and boasts some lovely gardens which make a great setting for the formal photographs.

The group photographs didn’t take up too much of the guests time and I was then able to take some great shots of the couple utilising the features of the grounds.

The couple had plenty of time to relax and catch up with their guests and relatives before taking their seats for the wedding breakfast and the speeches.

I do like to take a couple of shots using a fisheye lens to produce some stylish and contemporary photographs.

After the speeches I set up the evening portrait studio and was on hand to capture the cake cutting and the first dance.

I wanted to take the opportunity of capturing a night shot before I finished and the couple were game. If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch.
